The end-of-line of innovation: System Ceramics efficient and productive solutions

The end-of-line process in ceramic production represents the crucial phase in which ceramic tiles complete their production cycle. This final stage of the ceramic production process ensures that the finished product conforms to the required specifications and it is ready to meet market needs. During this phase, the tiles are subjected to accurate quality controls to ensure compliance with pre-established standards, stacked according to the quality class detected and subsequently processed by packaging technologies.

Innovation and know-how to accelerate and improve quality

With its end-of-line technologies, System Ceramics introduces a growth strategy to increase productivity, accelerate technological innovation and improve product quality, sustainability and service.

We start with Multistore, the new innovative technology for the automatic handling and storage of fired material on benches. A simple and smart structure guarantees a minimal impact on the layout of the line and its extreme flexibility in the automatic format change allows you to easily manage production, also thanks to the integration with Hypermate.

After Multistore the tiles are then checked by Qualitron, an advanced vision system for tone detection, which allows a detailed check aimed at identifying structure and decoration defects. Qualitron accurately classifies every single tile, making production more efficient by minimizing the margin of error at the end of the cycle.

It is then Multigecko which, having received the information from Qualitron, stacks the tiles consistently with their class with extreme flexibility in managing the thickness (from 1 to 25mm) and the format (up to 1200x1800mm). This sorting system is a continuous-cycle with the use of special software, that allows product and format change without any machine stopping.

One of the latest technologies in the packaging field is SideWrapwrap packaging process characterized by an unprecedented ecological saving. Sidewrap is an efficient and evolved frame wrap packaging machine complete with portioner. It receives incoming tiles from the sorting, arranges them, and then portions them according to the indications imposed in the interface. At this point, the stacks of tiles are moved towards the wrap-around-type packaging machine: 4 cardboard storage units, all positioned on the same side, provide the four sides of the tile with a pre-cut and, optionally, preprinted carton frame.

Before paletizing phase, we have Cartonstrap, the cardboard corner coupling machine that can replace standard package coupling and gluing machines for improved protection of tile corners. Its introduction optimizes production and makes it more sustainable: Cartonstrap makes it possible to save around 2 million meters of plastic strapping per year, eliminating the use of plastic and drastically reducing the percentage of damages to pieces during transport.

Finally, the Griffon automatic palletizer equipped with a motorised gripper for better grip control on the package ensures optimal management of the flow of products towards the warehouse.

It is the end-of-line of System Ceramics innovation, for efficient, sustainable and impeccable quality production.
