Infinity Sky: top performances meet unique features

Teased at Tecna 2024 and officially launched at Open House 2025, Infinity Sky is the newest digital decoration solution developed by System Ceramics. It represents both a technological update and a complete system, designed to respond to the increasing complexity of ceramic production, where aesthetic requirements, process efficiency, and sustainability targets must be managed simultaneously.

Developed as part of the company’s broader commitment in the decoration phase, Infinity Sky is conceived to address specific needs expressed by manufacturers: the demand for greater flexibility in head configuration, the ability to manage up to 16 bars on a single machine, and the importance of maintaining constant print quality. Its introduction marks a further evolution within the System Ceramics portfolio, reinforcing the company’s position as a benchmark in digital innovation for ceramic surfaces.

The best tailormade solution

At the heart of Infinity Sky is its architecture, available in four models with 4, 8, 12, or 16 single bars. Each bar can be configured independently with a different printhead, allowing the machine to manage up to 16 bars simultaneously. This level of configurability enables manufacturers to achieve a wide variety of decorative effects, including complex layering, delicate gradients, and precise textures, without modifying the machine structure.

This customizable approach means manufacturers can select the configuration that best suits their current needs while maintaining the flexibility to scale or adapt as their production evolves.

Revolutionary features: ink sedimentation control and ultrasound generation system

While some of the specifics found in Infinity Sky exist on the market individually, this solution is the only one that gathers them all together, and combines them with unique features that make a real difference:

  • The integrated ink recirculation inversion system is designed to prevent ink sedimentation and preserve consistent ink quality throughout the process. It ensures that ink keeps circulating (including during long production stoppages) thereby maintaining constant print quality and uniformity.
  • The ultrasound generation system, leveraging the characteristics of piezoelectric heads, guarantees prolonged and stable printing performance. It supports longer head life and reduces the frequency of replacements or manual maintenance.

These two systems define the core value of Infinity Sky, enhancing its operational reliability and quality assurance

Self-maintenance and printhead protection

Each single bar includes a pneumatic lifting mechanism with automatic activation during the pause of a single bar, which isolates it from the substrate. This prevents ink sedimentation on inactive bars while allowing uninterrupted operation on active ones.

Complementary to these features are:

  • A mixing system that ensures the ink inside the tanks remains uniform and usable, even after extended downtimes;
  • A protection system that minimizes the wear of heads, preserving optimal functionality;
  • A smart logic that keeps unused print heads always in operation, maintaining ink circulation and head integrity, and avoiding clogs or restarts.

This combination of features significantly reduces unplanned maintenance and downtime, ensuring smoother production cycles and more predictable output.

Designed for sustainable performance

When we talk about sustainability in ceramic manufacturing, the focus isn’t limited to emissions or environmental impact. It also involves how long a machine remains efficient, how much waste it can help avoid, and how well it manages resources across its operational life.

Infinity Sky addresses these priorities through:

  • Self-maintenance capabilities, which reduce the need for frequent part replacements;
  • Ink management systems that limit material loss and ensure printing consistency;
  • Extended printhead durability, reducing the environmental footprint over the long term.

Moreover, Infinity Sky is part of the broader System Ceramics ecosystem, which also includes support for water-based inks, an important aspect in reducing VOC emissions and aligning with modern sustainability requirements in ceramic production.

A core pillar of System Ceramics’ portfolio

Infinity Sky is not a stand-alone development. It is part of a strategic portfolio that System Ceramics is presenting to the market, one that reflects the company's constant investment in technology, integration, and digital transformation.

Presented alongside Infinity Dry at Open House 2025, Infinity Sky highlights the company’s emphasis on the decoration phase, as a key moment for aesthetic definition and product differentiation. Together, these two solutions reflect a complete approach to surface treatment: one dry, one digital, both adaptable and precise.

By integrating decoration into a broader process logic (mechanical, digital, and sustainable) System Ceramics confirms its status as a trusted partner for customers who seek reliable, scalable, and forward-looking production tools.
