System Ceramics heading for Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2019

The doors of the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dacca will be opening from 5 to 7 December for the Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2019 international trade fair. The event, in its second edition, will attract to the Bangladeshi capital some of the leading operators in the international ceramic market.

System Ceramics will be at this important appointment and is ready to welcome all visitors to its stand situated in HALL 3 – P2. It will be an opportunity to find out about the latest technologies developed by System Ceramics for the ceramic tiles production industry, together with the team of technicians and experts present at the show: from the new Superfast, the first moldless ceramic press in the world for traditional formats, to Multigecko, the sorting line able to manage materials with thicknesses from 1 to 25 mm and formats up to 1200 x 1800 mm. There are many new developments to be explored, also in the area of digital decoration with Creadigit.

Space is also given to industry 4.0 with Prime, the Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) solution for a complete digitalization of the entire ceramic tile production process. The system controls the entire production cycle: from the input of the raw materials to the compilation of a Picking List of the finished product. It’s able to dialogue with the systems and machines inside the manufacturing process, analyzing data from which to draw strategically significant information for optimization of the production cycle in all its phases.

New opportunities in the ceramic market in Bangladesh

The ceramic market in Bangladesh has always been a thriving sector, right from the end of the 1950s; its growth has increased exponentially in the last 10 years (+200%).

Although inserted in the Asiatic context (the whole continent has experienced a downturn in the production of tiles in the last year, -5.2% against 2017 due to the sharp drop in volumes produced in China), the Bangladeshi ceramic market has grown constantly both terms of production and in exports. The Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA) has declared that, in the first case, the production of tiles in Bangladesh in 2018 was around 20 million sq.m., of which 24% exported to other Asian countries (India, Nepal and Bhutan being the main importing nations from Bangladesh).

It’s a market, therefore, which is destined to make a name for itself in the next few years and in which System Ceramics can certainly play a key role as partner for the innovation of the production process and the digitalization of Bangladeshi ceramic companies.
